Here’s to Wild Times at the 18th Annual WaZoo at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo

WaZoo Beer Fest, recognized as one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today, is on tap for Saturday, August 3 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, presented by World of Beer. Headliner One Mile Final (rock, hip-hop and blues) with special guest Cutty Jones (contemporary and classic hits) will rock the World of Beer Main Stage in the Zoo’s special events area.

TAMPA, Fla. (July 12, 2013) — WaZoo Beer Fest, recognized as one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today, is on tap for Saturday, August 3 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, presented by World of Beer. Headliner One Mile Final (rock, hip-hop and blues) with special guest Cutty Jones (contemporary and classic hits) will rock the World of Beer Main Stage in the Zoo’s special events area. The event also includes a talented roster of diverse artists in locations throughout the event, including: Impulse (reggae), Kim Harpo and The Hawks (blues), Mainstreet Band (rock), Between Bluffs (pop, folk) and The Ben Bryan Band (acoustic).

Attend this wilder breed of beer fest with several thousand thirsty friends who support the Zoo. Event proceeds benefit animal care and education programs at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, a private nonprofit organization.

The Zoo gratefully acknowledges presenting sponsor J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida, Inc., BBC host Blue Moon Brewing Company, and entertainment sponsor World of Beer, as well as additional sponsors who make this event possible: Ryder Truck Rental, Cintas, Pepsi, Whole Foods Market, Melitta, Papa John’s Pizza and CJS Productions.

Tickets are available online at LowryParkZoo.com or by phone 813-935-8552 ext. 276 in advance, or at the door the night of the event. General admission tickets start at $60. BBC/VIP tickets are $100 per person in advance, and are expected to sell out prior to the event. Group discounts available for 20 tickets or more. Designated driver tickets are also available. Taxi cabs will be available following the event to encourage responsible consumption.

The Zoo will close at 3 p.m. August 3 for set up of WaZoo, which takes place rain or shine. Animals are not on exhibit during the event. Due to the nature of the event and number of guests in attendance, strollers are not permitted. For more, visit the WaZoo web site or WaZoo Facebook page.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is operated by the Lowry Park Zoological Society, an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to excellence in education, conservation and research. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), and is featured among the “Top 25 Zoos in the U.S” by TripAdvisor (2015) and “10 Best Zoos in the U.S.” by Trekaroo (2015). The Zoo is located at 1101 W. Sligh Avenue in Tampa, one mile west of I-275 (exit 48) and is open seven days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
