TAMPA, Fla. (July 18, 2014) — WaZoo Beer Fest, recognized as one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today, is on tap for Saturday, August 2 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, presented by J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida, Inc. This wilder breed of beer fest benefits animal care, education programs and global conservation initiatives of the Zoo, a nonprofit organization.
For one ticket price, beer connoisseurs can go on a sampling safari of brews including lagers, porters, stouts, browns, ambers, wheats, ales, ciders, pilsners, draughts and more from international and independent brewers. Hundreds of vendors and event volunteers will pour more than 275 types of beer from 70 breweries worldwide.
To complement the suds, guests can graze on sure-to-please snacks and pub-friendly finger foods from favorite eateries like BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Big Momma’s Smokehouse BBQ (new), Brick House Tavern + Tap, Cigar City Brewpub (new), Grimaldi’s Pizzeria (new), James Joyce Irish Pub & Eatery, Ker’s WingHouse (new), Kona Grill, Papa John’s Pizza, Sonny’s BBQ (new), Tijuana Flats and more.
Adding to the WaZoo experience, guests can groove to great live music from buzzworthy Florida bands, presented by World of Beer. Headliner One Mile Final (rock, hip-hop and blues) with special guest Cutty Jones (contemporary and classic hits) will rock the World of Beer Main Stage in the Zoo’s special events area. The event also includes a talented roster of diverse artists in locations throughout the event, including: Impulse (reggae), Kim Harpo and The Hawks (blues), and The Adrian Ray Band (country).
For guests seeking to get a head start – and beat the heat, a limited number of VIP Beastly Beverage Club (BBC) tickets will be available, presented by Blue Moon®. VIP tickets offer exclusive access to the Zoo's air-conditioned Safari Lodge events facility and early event entry at 6:30 p.m.
The Zoo gratefully acknowledges presenting sponsor J.J. Tickets start at $65 and are available online at www.LowryParkZoo.org/WaZoo, by phone 813-935-8552 ext. 392, at the Zoo’s ticket windows during regular business hours of 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., or at the door the night of the event. The VIP/BBC area, which is expected to sell out, offers early entry time of 6:30 p.m. exclusive access to the Safari Lodge events facility and adjoining outdoor plaza, with early entry time of 6:30 p.m. Taxi cabs will be available following the event to encourage responsible consumption.
