Chinese Lantern Festival Transports Guests To Asia, Without Leaving Florida

TAMPA, Fla. (March 6, 2015) — It’s “spring break season” and Tampa has been ranked by Expedia as the 9th most popular spring break destination for 2015 (based on flights to many top destinations). This year, travelers and locals can make a quick escape to China at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, no passport required. Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is proud to present Zoominations, a Chinese Lantern Festival of Lights, now through May 31.

Previously seen in London, Toronto and Beijing, this international cultural experience is anticipated to be one of the largest lantern festivals held in the U.S. – and the first of its kind in the Southeast. Zoominations features 30 spectacular scenes across 26 acres of the Zoo, performances by Chinese acrobats, an artisan market with unique handmade crafts, and Asian-inspired cuisine.

Zoominations is a nighttime event that carries a separate ticket from Zoo daytime admission. A new combination ticket for daytime admission and Zoominations is now available, saving guests $10 per ticket. Purchase tickets online or at the Zoo’s front gate for this one-of-a-kind illuminating experience at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.

Visit www.TampaLanternFest.org for more information or to purchase tickets. Find updates on Zoominations on Facebook and images on Flickr.
