TAMPA, Fla. (July 22, 2015) — WaZoo Beer Fest, recognized as one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today, is on tap for Saturday, August 1st from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, presented by J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida, Inc. This wilder breed of beer fest fundraiser benefits animal care, education programs and global conservation
initiatives of the Zoo, a nonprofit organization.
For one ticket price, beer connoisseurs can go on a sampling safari of brews including
lagers, porters, stouts, browns, ambers, wheats, ales, ciders, pilsners, draughts and more from
international and independent brewers. Hundreds of vendors and event volunteers will pour
more than 275 types of beer from 70 breweries worldwide.
To complement the suds, guests can graze on sure-to-please snacks and pub-friendly
finger foods from more than a dozen favorite eateries like BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse,
Skippers Smokehouse, Peabody’s Billiards & Games, Cigar City Brewpub, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, James Joyce Irish Pub & Eatery, Beef O’ Brady’s, Papa John’s Pizza, Graffiti Junktion, Pinchers, Kona Grill and more.
Adding to the WaZoo experience, guests can groove to great live music from buzzworthy
Florida bands. Headliners Mighty Mongo and Dropin Pickup will rock the Main Stage in the
Zoo’s special events area. The event also includes a talented roster of diverse artists in
locations throughout the event, including: Impulse World Beat (reggae) and Walker Smith Group (blues). Chris McCarty will be performing in the VIP area.
New this year, the Zoo is offering two levels of the wildly popular VIP Beastly Beverage
Club (BBC), presented by Blue Moon®. VIP tickets include early event entry at 6:30 p.m. and
offer exclusive access to the Zoo's air-conditioned Safari Lodge events facility. The traditional
VIP/BBC ticket has sold out. A new Pilsners & Penguins Package includes all of the WaZoo
Beastly Beverage Club amenities and a special gift designating the recipient’s contribution to
the Zoo’s African Penguin conservation efforts. The Pilsner & Penguins Package is limited to
100 tickets, and is only available for purchase online at LowryParkZoo.org/WaZoo. To

General admission tickets start at $65 and are available online at LowryParkZoo.org/WaZoo, by phone 813-935-8552 ext. 329, at the Zoo’s ticket windows
during regular business hours of 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., or at the door the night of the event.
To encourage responsible consumption at this year’s event, the Zoo has partnered with
Uber Tampa to introduce Uber transportation WaZoo patrons for safe rides home. WaZoo
guests who use the Uber app to reserve their first Uber ride using the code WAZOO2015 will
ride free up to a $20 fare. The promo code is only valid for first time riders using the Uber app to
request and ride via their mobile phones.

The Zoo will close at 2 p.m. August 1 for set up of WaZoo, which takes place rain or
shine. Animals are not on exhibit during the event. Due to the nature of the event and number
