About: Mpumi

“Mpumi,” short for “Impumelelo,” means success or achievement in Swati. Mpumi is the first offspring born to “Mbali” and “Sdudla,” two wild born elephants rescued from culling in Swaziland, Africa and brought to the U.S. more than a decade ago. This playful pachyderm loves to swim in the watering hole and is always eager to work with her trainers in exchange for her favorite treats -- carrots.
