Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo offers a variety of programs catered for the animal-loving teen.

Summer Camp Career Internship Program

Calling all Millennials! It’s your time to be a change agent for planet Earth. Find out what it takes to become the next generation of professionals in the Zoo and Aquarium field within the real world of Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.

Our Summer Camp Career Internship program is one of the many ways Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo demonstrates a commitment to its mission of conservation, education, science and recreation. Through our internships, we provide practical, high-quality experiences that help you achieve your academic goals. The Summer Camp Career Internship program provides an opportunity for students 15 and older to earn service hours by assisting with conservation summer camps.

Career Workshops

We offer two different two-hour workshops to help prepare teens for a career with animals: Animal Career Workshop and Reptiles & Aquatics Workshop.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is operated by the Lowry Park Zoological Society, an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to excellence in education, conservation and research. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), and is featured among the “Top 25 Zoos in the U.S” by TripAdvisor (2015) and “10 Best Zoos in the U.S.” by Trekaroo (2015). The Zoo is located at 1101 W. Sligh Avenue in Tampa, one mile west of I-275 (exit 48) and is open seven days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
