This new Halloween event will offer a wide-range of activities for all. From youngsters to teens and adults, find eerie adventures for the whole family. Wander into scare zones or encounter animals at night. Party the night away at a ghoulish dance party. No horror or gore, just scares and startles for one & all.

How can I purchase tickets?

Creatures of the Night is every Friday and Saturday evening, October 7-29, until 10 p.m. A variety of event admission options are available:

  • Free and unlimited entry for Annual Zoo Members;
  • Free and unlimited entry for “pay for a day, come back all year” ticket holders; 
  • Purchase a one-day ticket on an event day (valid for full day including event);
  • Purchase a special “after 4 pm” ticket on event days for $19.95 (ages 3 and up). 

After 4 p.m. tickets to the seasonal events will also be available at the gate and online.

Do Zoo Annual Members get discounts?

Creatures of the Night is included at no extra cost!

Are tickets available the day of the event?

YES! After 4 p.m. tickets to the seasonal events will also be available at the gate and online if you do not already have your ZooperPass or membership.

Will there be candy stations or trick-or-treating?

There is no trick-or-treating this year, however little boos and ghouls should check out Wallaroo Station’s “Pumpkin Palooza” for fun family friendly activities.

Will the animals be out?

All animal areas will be open, pending weather and other circumstances, besides the Florida Boardwalk. Please visit before 5 p.m. to see the Florida animals, including manatees, stingrays, black bears and more! In addition, Animal Ambassadors will have scheduled mingles in select locations.

What items are prohibited at the event?

The following items are not permitted to be brought into the Zoo at any time for the safety of our animals and guests: weapons, knives, any type of sharp objects, hazardous items or materials, coolers, straws and lids. Toy weapons of any sort will not be permitted at Creatures of the Night. In addition, for this event, items such as chairs, blankets and cups are not allowed. Above items will need to be surrendered at the Zoo entrance or returned to the owner’s car. Please note that all bags, backpacks and personal items are subject to inspection prior to entering the park. Guests are not permitted to leave Zoo grounds with alcoholic beverages.

Is smoking permitted?

The Zoo has designated smoking areas for cigarettes, e-cigarettes and cigars. Please be aware of these areas which have been specifically selected to minimize impact to other guests and animals.

Are children allowed to attend?

Children are always welcome at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo.

What is the dress for the event?

The event is a casual, held outdoors, therefore susceptible to both the heat and a passing shower.

Are costumes allowed?

Children (ages 11 and under) are invited to arrive in their most spooktacular attire. Toy weapons of any sort will not be permitted. For the comfort and safety of all guests, adults (ages 12 and older) are prohibited from wearing masks, wigs, face paint or costumes of any kind.

What happens if it rains during the event?

Creatures of the Night takes place rain or shine. Any changes to this policy will be posted on the Zoo’s website. If the event is postponed due to unforeseen weather closure, tickets will be honored for the future date.

What happens in severe weather?

Zoo staff will closely monitor radar to be aware of potential bad weather before and during the event. If severe weather occurs, activities will be suspended for the safety of all participants to seek shelter.
