K-3rd grade camp. Test your animal imitation skills and morph into a new animal each day. Come learn about a variety of animals and find out if you have what it takes to BE the creature.

A typical day at summer camp may include*:

  • Zoo hikes
  • Classroom lessons with pictures and artifacts
  • Animal encounters and enrichments
  • Themed based activities
  • Arts and crafts projects
  • Animal shows and feedings
  • Keeper talks
  • Educational videos

*Schedules will vary depending on the grade level, instructor, and weekly theme.

Program Information:

  • Currently enrolled in grades K-3
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
  • Extended care: If you need to drop off your child before 8:45 a.m. or pick them up after 4:15 p.m., you must sign up for extended care. Morning (AM) Extended Care lasts from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Afternoon (PM) Extended Care lasts from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Extended care can only be for the entire length of camp. Sorry, partial camp extended care is not available.
  • Price includes one t-shirt that must be worn daily. Does not include Zoo admission before/after program.
  • Please schedule at least one week in advance.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is operated by the Lowry Park Zoological Society, an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to excellence in education, conservation and research. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), and is featured among the “Top 25 Zoos in the U.S” by TripAdvisor (2015) and “10 Best Zoos in the U.S.” by Trekaroo (2015). The Zoo is located at 1101 W. Sligh Avenue in Tampa, one mile west of I-275 (exit 48) and is open seven days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
