Dino Mite! (one day camp) - K-3rd - 3/17/2017

K-3rd grade camp. Take a trip back in time to when the dinosaurs ruled the earth. Learn what the world was like before we were around and what kinds of creatures still remain from our prehistoric past.

A typical day at summer camp may include*:

  • Zoo hikes
  • Classroom lessons with pictures and artifacts
  • Animal encounters and enrichments
  • Themed based activities
  • Arts and crafts projects
  • Animal shows and feedings
  • Keeper talks
  • Educational videos

*Schedules will vary depending on the grade level, instructor, and weekly theme.

Program Information:

  • Enrolled in grades K-3.
  • Academic day 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 
  • Free extended care from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Lunch included, daily (Camper MUST bring refillable water bottle and two snacks, daily).
  • Price includes one t-shirt that must be worn daily. 
  • Does not include Zoo admission before/after program.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is operated by the Lowry Park Zoological Society, an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to excellence in education, conservation and research. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), and is featured among the “Top 25 Zoos in the U.S” by TripAdvisor (2015) and “10 Best Zoos in the U.S.” by Trekaroo (2015). The Zoo is located at 1101 W. Sligh Avenue in Tampa, one mile west of I-275 (exit 48) and is open seven days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
