Adult Volunteer Opportunities

Our Adult Volunteer Program option is perfect for those who are seeking to gain experience in a chosen department, provide vital support to a department within the Zoo and make new friends.

Guest Engagement Ambassadors

Guest Engagement Ambassadors play an important role in advancing the Zoo’s mission of “creating unforgettable natural connections.” They devote their time enhancing guest experiences by engaging and educating visitors of all ages on the topics of animals and conservation. Our Guest Engagement Ambassadors do this by supporting Zoo-wide conservation stations, acting as habitat interpreters, using biofacts to engage guests, and answering visitor questions.

Administration & Operations Departments

Are you interested in contributing your time and talents to Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo? We are currently accepting volunteers in our Administration, Education, and Operations departments.

Adult Volunteers in these departments contribute time to Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo and assist with an area of their choice, such as data entry, administrative projects, greeting our guests, assisting at our rides, assisting with children’s crafts and other projects in our Education Department and so much more.

The “Green Team” Recycling Program

Our Recycling Program is fully supported by volunteers, and is a great option for active adults to assist the Zoo in being a role model in the community by making environmentally conscious decisions.
