Daily Premium Experience - Elephant Specialty

This unique experience travels behind-the-scenes to provide exclusive interactions with many of our Zoo animals, including our African elephants. While itineraries change daily, these experiences may include the opportunity to hand feed lowland anoa, toss some squirmy enrichment treats to our meerkats and tour the David A. Straz Manatee rescue facility.

Daily Premium Experience

Embark on a journey behind-the-scenes for a special up-close experience with the wild animals at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. While itineraries change daily, these small group experiences may include the opportunity to touch a White Rhinocerous, hand-feed a Florida Key Deer or interact with African penguins inside their habitat. This walking tour provides fantastic photo opportunities and one-of-a-kind memories.

Zoo Adventure Tour

Take a private tour of Tampa' Lowry Park Zoo with one of our expert Zoo guides. Your group will get unique insight and a behind-the-scenes look at one of the Zoo’s amazing animal areas. Choose from an up-close encounter with Florida Wildlife, a wild walk in Safari Africa, a fascinating discovery of exotic Asian animals or hang out with a friendly group of primates.

Twilight Tour

Experience the Zoo after the sun goes down. Bring your flashlight for the best view as you enjoy a guided hike through one of the Zoo’s animal areas, go behind-the-scenes to see the workings of our world class manatee hospital, and have an up-close animal encounter. Your evening will also include a pizza snack and lemonade.

Animal Career Workshop

Calling all Millenials! It’s your time to be a change agent for planet Earth. Find out what it takes to become a next generation professional in the zoo and aquarium field. This experience includes an animal encounter, enrichment or husbandry experience, and a behind-the-scenes look at animal care at the Zoo.

Reptiles & Aquatics Workshop

Do you love all things scaly and slimy? Join us for a closer look at the Zoo’s reptiles, amphibians, fish and more, and find out what it takes to be a next generation professional in the zoo and aquarium field. This experience includes an up-close encounter with one of our reptile animal ambassadors and a behind-the-scenes look at our herpetology and or aquatics department.

Inside Look Tour

Take a sneak peek behind-the-scenes at the inner workings of the Zoo. During this program, your group will visit the Zoo’s commissary where the animals’ diets are made and tour our world-class manatee hospital.

Animal Presentation

Enjoy a personal presentation with our Animal Ambassadors. Your group will have the opportunity to be up-close with a variety of animals including mammals, reptiles, birds and more. Presentations can be tailored to incorporate specific topics or lessons.

Wetlands Connection Science Safari

Looking for an educational experience about Florida’s environment? This program is perfect for learning about the vital role that wetlands play in Florida’s ecology. While at the Zoo, your group will participate in an experiment, have an encounter with an Animal Ambassador, go on a scavenger hunt and more.

Scavenger Hunts

Use your animal instincts to solve clues, work together, and have fun with the Zoo’s scavenger hunts such as ZSI: Zoo Scene Investigation. Scavenge smartly and hunt hurriedly…the winning group gets a prize.

Pony Parade

Hay there! Stop horsing around and come check out the ponies as they walk with their keepers through Wallaroo Station. You can see these precious ponies up close and watch how they interact with their keepers.

Goat Presentation

During this presentation we explain the natural and individual history of the goats at the Zoo. Trainers demonstrate positive reinforcement training with 2-3 of our goats from the petting zoo. Guests have the opportunity to interact with the goats after the presentation and follow a trainer while asking the animals to present specific behaviors.

Macaw Flyover

Watch these beautiful, brightly colored birds in flight, as they soar above your head and between strategically placed perches located throughout the Zoo, beginning at the Zoo’s Main Entrance.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is a globally recognized, accredited zoological society and one of the more popular tourist destinations in Tampa, Florida. We offer over one million annual visitors the chance to learn about 1,300 animals in a way that’s exciting, interactive and fun. We also operate one of the world’s foremost breeding programs, helping to save some of our planet’s most threatened species from extinction. In addition to breeding, we are home to Florida’s premier manatee rescue and rehabilitation center, dedicated to the treatment and safe release of one of our state’s most famous resident animal species. Yet with all of this and so much more, we have one simple mission: to connect to the living earth for the protection of future generations of all species, including humans.
