Park Areas

Exotic animals in their natural surroundings.

Safari Africa

safari-africa-2

It's a jungle in here! See some of the finest natural wildlife at close hand - elephants, zebras, meerkats, white rhinos, cheetahs, pygmy hippos, okapi, African penguins and much more! Guests can stand on the feeding plateau of Safari Africa and get eye-to-eye with the tallest animals in the world - the giraffe. You can also feed the giraffes lettuce, on sale at the feeding station.

Ituri Forest

Ituri_Forest

Possibly the most unique and exotic event location in Tampa Bay, Inturi Forest is highly popular with wedding groups, corporate functions and group events. Where else can you get married surrounded by exotic animals? The towering trees, lush vegetation and water feature create a magical, tranquil ambiance that guests remember for a lifetime.

Penguin Beach

Penguin_Beach

It's the bay area's best beach—if you happen to be an African Penguin. Discover these charismatic creatures up close, meet members of the animal care team, hear keeper talks, see penguin feedings and more. Native to South Africa, African penguin colonies are declining at an alarming rate: more than 60 percent in the past three decades. That's why Penguin Beach is also home to several successful breeding pairs of penguins and their chicks.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is a globally recognized, accredited zoological society and one of the more popular tourist destinations in Tampa, Florida. We offer over one million annual visitors the chance to learn about 1,300 animals in a way that’s exciting, interactive and fun. We also operate one of the world’s foremost breeding programs, helping to save some of our planet’s most threatened species from extinction. In addition to breeding, we are home to Florida’s premier manatee rescue and rehabilitation center, dedicated to the treatment and safe release of one of our state’s most famous resident animal species. Yet with all of this and so much more, we have one simple mission: to connect to the living earth for the protection of future generations of all species, including humans.
