Visitor Information: Mosquito Protection
Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is committed to doing our part to ensure the health and safety of our guests, employees and animals. Recently, the mosquito-transmitted Zika virus has become a growing concern for travelers and Floridians. Although there have been no locally transmitted incidents of Zika in Tampa, our staff is working diligently to mitigate mosquitoes and reduce risk. We are also encouraging employees and guests to follow health department recommendations and take preventative action by wearing insect repellent. To be at the forefront of being proactive, and as a guest courtesy, we are offering complimentary “spray stations” for park visitors who would like insect repellent. The Zoo will continue to monitor this situation and update our staff and visitors appropriately.
